Daryl Conner, a master pet stylist, and an award winning grooming industry journalist and educational speaker who travels around the U.S. helping other groomers to advance their skills, will give a talk and answer questions on dog grooming Wednesday, July 23, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Jean H. Kislak dog park.

Delighted to be teaching so close to home, Conner has been a pet stylist for more than 30 years. She will bring an array of common tools that are helpful for pet owners and discuss their use, as well as give a lesson on how to best comb and brush your dog, and which tools work best on which coat type.

She will also talk about care of ears and nails, how to choose which shampoos and conditioners work great, as well as how to help your dog learn to like being groomed at home.

Bring your grooming questions for a pleasant chat about keeping your pet looking, feeling and smelling its best. Please do not bring dogs to the talk unless they will sit quietly and not be distracted by other dogs.

This is the first in a series of talks at the gazebo in the dog park located on Camden Street in Rockport adjacent to the P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center. For more information about the talk, contact Jean White at 236-4885.
