The Belfast U11 All-Star Invitational Tournament went off without a hitch Saturday, July 12 at Walsh Field as four squads competed in the double-elimination format in hopes of clinching the crown.

In the end, it was host Belfast that went 3-0 on the day and defeated Five Town 12-2 in the final game.

Along with Belfast and Five Town, Western Mountain (Rumford) and the Pittsfield Huskies participated in the tournament.

Team members for Belfast included Tommy Walker, Eamon Goscinski, Noah Jacobs, Jason Bartlett, Jacob Mills-Lightner, Christian Pillitteri, Zeph Leppanen, Chase Sanders, Joesph Baker and Gavin Young. The team was coached by Penson Bartlett and Allison Goscinski.

Team members for Five Town included Jeremy Frazier, Sam Moody, True Crane, Aiden Schecter, Nick Tausek, Matt Kremin, Emerson Brott, Owen Power, Emmitt Dayhoof, and Luke Moody. The team was coached by Tim Moody, Mike Kremin and Jon Crane.

Belfast 12, Five Town 2

At Belfast, the hosts finished the tournament unbeaten as it bested Five Town by 10 runs.

Moody, Kremin, Crane and Tausek pitched for Five Town, allowing a combined 12 hits and eight walks, with seven strikeouts. Bartlett went the distance for Belfast, allowing three hits and one walk, with nine strikeouts.

Leading Five Town at the plate were Moody (single), Crane (run) and Frazier (run).

For Belfast, Walker (3 hits, run), Leppanen (hit, run, RBI), Jacobs (hit, 2 RBIs, run), Bartlett (hit, 3 runs), Mills-Lightner (2 hits, run), Pillitteri (single,double, triple), Sanders (hit), Goscinski (run), Baker (hit, run) and Young (hit) paced the offense.

Belfast 13, Pittsfield Huskies 5

At Belfast, the host squad continued to surge as it beat the Huskies by eight runs.

Leading the hosts at the plate were Pilliterri (single, RBI), Walker (single, double, triple) and Young (run).

Jacobs and Goscinski pitched for Belfast, allowing five hits and two walks, with six strikeouts.

Belfast 6, Five Town 1

At Belfast, the host squad prevailed in the first game of the tournament.

Crane and Tausek pitched for Five Town, allowing six hits and seven walks, with seven strikeouts. Jacobs and Leppanen pitched for Belfast, allowing two hits and four walks, with eight strikeouts.

Leading Five Town at the plate were Crane (hit) and Schecter (hit, run).

For Belfast, Jacobs (double, single, run), Bartlett (2 hits, run), Sanders (hit, run), Leppanen (hit, run) and Mills-Lightner (hit, run) paced the offense.
