The Marshall Point Lighthouse Loop 5-Kilometer Road Race and children's half-mile fun run will be Saturday, July 19.

The event is part of the annual St. George Days celebration.

While the 3.1-mile race is open to all, the free children's run is for those ages 12-and-younger.

The scenic course is on the St. George peninsula and begins at Drift Inn Beach in Port Clyde. It offers views of the coast and winds to the lighthouse, through the village of Port Clyde and finishes at Drift Inn Beach.

The half-mile children's fun run begins at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m.

The cost is $20 for the 5K on the day of the race.

The first three finishers in each age group will be recognized and prizes will be awarded for first-place finishers.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. George Parks and Recreation Department Boosters, which supports youth activities.
