A Knox County Sheriff's deputy was named Community Person of the Year at Rockland Rotary's annual change of command dinner June 30 at the Samoset Resort.
Tim Carroll of Owls Head has been the president of the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland for the past five years and has served as a director for several years. The festival brings more than 25,000 visitors to Rockland each year and normally sells more than 20,000 pounds of Maine lobster.
Carroll also has coached in a variety of youth programs and is an active member of the community.
Outgoing President Gene Reil made the presentation to Carroll. Amie Hutchinson is the new Rockland Rotary president and Dr. Dave Theriault was named Rotarian of the Year.
