Friends of the Thomaston Public Library will sponsor the second in the Movies on the Green series of outdoor, family-friendly films, shown at sundown on the wall of the old Maine State Prison, Saturday, July 19.
This month's selection is the 1979 classic “The Black Stallion,” based on Walter Farley's novel. Folk trio Playin' Possum will play before the film, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Attendees should bring their own lawn seating, blanket and bug spray. Popcorn and bottled water will be available for purchase for $1. In case of rain, the film will be shown the following Saturday.
