Sidney D. Oakes, 60, went to be with the Lord July 8, 2014, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born April 1, 1954 in Bangor the son of Noel and Geraldine (Howells) Oakes.

Sid graduated from Camden-Rockport High School in 1972 and attended Berkshire Christian College. It gave Sid great joy to inspire others through music. Music was a major part of Sidney’s life. He was always tapping his feet or using his fingers as drumsticks on the table. In his early years, Sid played for many area bands, and made a lot of dear friends along the way. He was well-known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He found humor in everything and had a contagious laugh.
