A Camden man is expected to be hired as the new business manager for Regional School Unit 13.

The board is expected to approve a one-year contract for Peter Orne at its Thursday, July 10 meeting. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the McLain School.

Orne is the part-time chief financial officer of Blind Squirrel Consulting, a self-owned business, as well as a financial consultant for Swans Island Blankets in Northport and Cappy's of Camden. He also works as an associate broker for ERA Cousens Realty of Rockland. Previously, he owned and managed AEGIS Bicycles, located in Camden and Van Buren.

Orne will replace former Business Manager Scott Vaitones, who served his last day for the district June 30 after the superintendent did not nominate Vaitones' contract for renewal.

The board is also expected to approve the appointment of Christelle Munnelly as a French teacher at Oceanside High School West in Thomaston and accept the resignation of Transportation Director Todd Johnston. They are also expected to approve revisions to the Mid-Coast School of Technology Cooperative Agreement.
