Rose & The Wayfaring Strangers will perform this week in the seasonal lawn concert series of the Rockport Masonic Center, 361 Main St. The music will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 9.
The band’s style of music ranges from Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstadt to Merle Haggard, with a little bluegrass gospel thrown in for good measure. Rose and Wayfaring Strangers has performed up and down the Midcoast and enjoys seeing people participate during performances; the local musicians’ enthusiasm and mix of music are sure to have listeners toe-tapping and singing along.
Rose and Wayfaring Strangers features Kim Moran of Lincolnville on vocals and flute; Doug Teel of Rockville on vocals and guitar; Ron Haven of Appleton on bass; Linda Stevenson of Warren on fiddle; and Rosey Gerry of Lincolnville on vocals, banjo, guitar and autoharp.
The Rockport Masons offers outside grilling of hamburgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs, plus beverage and sometimes beans for just $6. It’s a great outdoor picnic atmosphere; bring a lawn chair and come on down. The concerts are held inside if it rains. For more information, call Jeff Sukeforth at 691-2270. For more information on the band’s performances or bookings, contact Gerry at 975-5432 or roskari@gmail.com.
