Archipelago, the Island Institute store, presents a wall of Jean Kigel’s latest paintings florals and pines for the month of July.
These watercolors and temperas were inspired by the Waldoboro artist’s travels to Trinidad and by her walks through Maine’s pine forests. Includes in the florals are white irises, red rugosas and a colorful bird-of-paradise; in the pine series, Monhegan’s Cathedral woods, a pine island on the Damariscotta River and the Bowdoin Pines are celebrated.
The store is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 386 Main St.
