Camden National Bank announces the promotion of Scott Fernald to vice president, commercial loan officer. Fernald is based in Camden and serves businesses in the Midcoast area.

“Scott has a real understanding of the market and his clients and is an asset to our commercial lending team. His dedication, care and commitment earned him the title of Commercial Lender of the Year in 2013: to earn that title says a lot about him,” said Roberts, senior vice president and Midcoast commercial regional manager.

Customer service is what sets Fernald apart. He consistently puts customers first by being responsive to their day to day concerns and works quickly to get them the answers and solutions they need so that they can make decisions for their businesses.

“I understand what the financials mean and can structure financial packages that make sense for my clients and their businesses. I pride myself on finding creative and innovative solutions to the challenges they face. I also take time to get to know my customers, their families and their businesses, so they know that we are all in it together,” said Fernald.

Fernald graduated cum laude from the University of Maine at Machias in 1996 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting, and was a Who’s Who Among American College and University Students award recipient for academic achievement and community and campus leadership. He is also a graduate of the Massachusetts Bankers Association Advanced School of Commercial Lending and the Northern New England School of Banking.

A Maine native, Fernald is active in the community as a board member for Rockland Rotary and volunteers for the Waldo County YMCA as a t-ball coach, and swim meet timer. He lives in the Midcoast with his wife, Kelly; his son, Cole; and daughter, Morgan.
