Arts In Rockland’s season of First Friday Art walks continue July 4, Independence Day, from 5 to 8 p.m. More than 20 galleries, artists studios and other arts-releated venues participate, many with receptions and show openings.
Participating venues can be spotted via the AIR banners flying out front. They begin just south of the ferry landing and extend into the South End’s Maine Coastal Islands Gallery at the beginning of Water Street. Main Street is filled with options, as is Elm Street, and Winding Way Watercolors is just around the Oak Street corner.
New stops this month include the Gray Fox Gallery on Main Street and an on-site gallery at the Captain Lindsey House on Lindsey Street. The Farnsworth Art Museum is open free of charge First Fridays through October; the art walks run through the end of the year.
