Medomak Valley Land Trust will host a walk Thursday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at the Geele Farm Trails in Waldoboro.

Join the land trust for a friendly walk through forest and field with many water views. Most of the land the trail traverses is part of the Geele Farm, which was purchased by Charles A. Geele in 1886. Remains of old homesteads, including a brick cistern, foundations and an apple orchard are found throughout the farm.

All of the land is conserved through MVLT, and a 1.6 mile trail was built by volunteers last year. The trail system is open to the public year-round for low-impact recreation. The walk will be canceled in the event of rain and notification will be posted on the MVLT webpage and on its voicemail.

For more information about this event, conservation options or MVLT’s services to landowners, please contact the land trust’s Waldoboro office at 832-5570 or or visit
