Growing up the son of prominent parents, Jamie Weymouth has returned to his roots to resurrect a family business.

Camden Clothesline opened June 20 on Washington Street in the former Bishop's Store Laundromat building, a location Weymouth is very familiar with.

“It just totally made sense,” Weymouth said. “When I got back from out west a couple of years ago, I began kicking around the idea after the previous owner decided to close the doors. I grew up across the street and I got to see everyday, first-hand how my parents ran the business – it was really a no brainier.”

In the spirit of his parents, Jeffery and Rosemary, Weymouth is excited to breath some life into the part of town that is affectionately known as Millville.

“When my parents opened the laundromat in 1981, there was a revival of sorts to re-energize the part of town that once had both the woolen mill and leather tannery – hence the name Millville,” he said. “I'd love to bring Millville back to a time when people had a reason to drive out Washington Street other than to get to Hope.”

He said his business philosophy is simple, “the customer is always right and I want to provide a clean, friendly, safe environment so that they will keep coming back.”

“You will always be able to count on us to do what it takes to make a customer happy, “ he said. “Warm, friendly customer service combined with the updates we have made will make for the most pleasurable experience possible.”

Weymouth has made some serious changes to the building including an entirely new set of state-of-the-art washers and dryers, new tile floors, new paint, counter tops and some amenities such as a lounge area with two televisions, an iPad for customer use, free Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee and tea.

The obvious change is the exterior color — formerly a gray stain, Camden Clothesline now sports a bright yellow exterior that allows the building to stand-out in the neighborhood.

“It is easy to spot it from the road,” he laughed.

Camden Clothesline will provide free delivery for business accounts, as well as, providing other services, including dry cleaning, coin-operated washers and dryers and wash-dry-fold service.
