July starts with two afternoon workshops at Belfast Free Library, 109 High St. Both are for all ages; free and open to the public; and will begin at 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, July 1, Deer Isle artist Frederica Marshall will lead a washi paper doll workshop with a kamishibai paper theater story. The Japanese tale includes a princess, danger and a happy ending. After the story, participants will create their own characters such as warriors, princesses or ninjas. This workshop should appeal to creative folks of all ages.
On Wednesday, Belfast performer Scot Cannon will offer a workshop in mime and music, again welcoming children and adults alike. Participants will be able to amaze their friends with great moves and music.
