June is Adopt-A-Cat month and we have another cat special to help get our wonderful cats into loving homes. Now through Saturday, June 28 we will be running an Oldies, but Goodies adoption promotion where we will waive the adoption fee for all those cats in our Classic Collection, cats 7 years or older. There are many great reasons to adopt a mature cat; their personality is already set so you'll know if she is a good match for your family and they're often content to just hang out and keep you company and don't have mischief on their minds. Older cats often have trouble finding new homes especially during the spring and summer months when kittens take center stage. Adopt a senior cat, you'll have years of love and gratitude.

Kitty, our pet pick of the week, is part of our Classic Collection. This beauty is around 8 years young. She is a real sweetheart. She enjoys attention and is fine around other cats. We have over a dozen Oldies, but Goodies who are hoping to find a home. Stop in and meet your match.

Join us at the Summer Solstice in Rockland this Saturday, June 21. We will be "adopting out" adorable and delicious cat and dog themed cupcakes to help us feed the animals at the shelter. We will be unveiling our new quilt for our raffle and we'll have our tag engraving machine there so you can get that all important I.D. tag for your pet. You can find us in front of Planet Toys who were generous enough to invite us and share their space.

There is still time and space to get your pets photo in our 2015 Calendar. There are options to let your pet shine. The coveted Cover Shot is taken but we still have some Glamour Shots where you'll have the pleasure of seeing your pet’s full-page-sized photo for an entire month with accompanying sidebar story where you can gush about your pet. Or maybe the very affordable Tail Wagger Shot, a photo featured on a month date space, is more your style. You'll also receive a complimentary 2015 Calendar to show off to your friends and family. They make awesome holiday gifts too at just $10. Don't miss out on this fun way to help homeless animals in our community. Submission forms are at hskcme.org or pick one up at the shelter. We also have advertising opportunities. Email calendar@hskcme.org with any questions.
