Author Eleanor Morse will read from her novel “White Dog Fell from the Sky” Tuesday, July 1, at the Ocean View Grange, 435 Port Clyde Road/Route 131. The free St. George Literary Series event will begin at 5:30 p.m. A wine and cheese reception will precede the reading.

This novel is a rich and intimate portrait of Botswana in 1976, a deeply moving story of three people whose intertwined lives are at once tragic and remarkable. Morse has an MFA in Creative Writing and is the author of the award-winning novel “The Enchanted Forest.” Her latest book draws from on her experience of living in Botswana for a number of years.  She has taught in adult education programs, in prisons and in the university systems, both in Maine and southern Africa. Morse lives on Peaks Island.

This is the second event in the St. George Literary series sponsored by Jackson Memorial Library. For more information, call 372-8961 or visit
