Readers of all ages will explore all things scientific this summer as the Rockland Public Library presents, “Fizz Boom, Read!” during their summer library program.

Activities may include science experiments, robot building, Grossology fun, nature explorations and the opening of huge Science Trunks, provided by The Cornerstones of Science Foundation.

The 2014 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, families, teens, and adults, with programs, prize drawings, storytimes, a reading club, and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program.

Registration for “Fizz, Boom, Read!” begins Saturday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. Miss Jean will open the first Science Trunk, “Water, Water, Water ," filled with hands-on experiments for the whole family. In addition, teens and tweens will be invited to a “Soda Bottle Science Program” They will be making terrariums, garden irrigation systems and liquid fireworks.

All programs are free of charge and made possible through the efforts of The Friends of the Rockland Public Library.
