The Camden Rotary Club will bring four live band performances to Camden Friday, July 4, for this year’s Music-by-the-Sea Concert in Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheatre, a major event during the Midcoast Festival of Independence.

An Independence Day tradition since the late 1980s, this free public concert is organized by the Camden Rotary Club and supported by Rotary members, local businesses and individuals. The Club’s goal is to raise $25,000 from concert sponsorships for its Youth Are the Future Program, a major new effort to support the development and education of youth in the Knox County and Lincolnville area.

The Club gratefully acknowledges the following sponsors who have contributed $500 or more to this event so far including Bangor Savings Bank, McNabb Marketing Resources, Camden Hills Dental Care, Elm Street Marketing Essentials, P.G. Willey, Buckingham Financial Designs, P.C., and James and Felicity Bowditch.

Sponsorships are still available at all levels; any person, family or business interested in being a sponsor is encouraged to contact Glenn Buckingham at 230-7200.

Scheduled to perform are: The Muellers, 2 to 3:15 p.m.; Midcoast Community Band, 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.; Reina del Cid, 5 to 6:15 p.m.; and David Dodson and The Lowdown, 7:45 to 9 p.m.

There will be plenty of excitement in downtown Camden before the music begins, as antique cars parade along Main Street and arrive on Atlantic Avenue from about 1 to 1:30 p.m. After the final performance, Camden’s annual fireworks display will take place over the harbor.
