Award-winning author Jacquelin Gorman will discuss her latest book, “The Viewing Room,” Tuesday, June 24, at the Ocean View Grange, 435 Port Clyde Road/Route 131. The free St. George Literary Series event will begin at 5:30 p.m. A wine and cheese reception will precede the reading.

“The Viewing Room” offers linked stories that examine death, dying and human love through the eyes of a young hospital chaplain. It won the 2013 Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction.

Gorman has practiced as a health care lawyer, as well as a hospital chaplain, and currently is the program director for the National Alliance on Mental Health. Nominated for a National Book Award, Gorman has been published in Slake literary magazine, Reader's Digest and The Kenyon Review.
