The Camden Philosophical Society’s 2014 Film and Lecture series will screen and discuss “Animal Sapiens,” a short 2003 film by Alvaro Mendoza, Tuesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. in the Picker Room of the downtown Camden Public Library.
During the development of human knowledge, a series of milestones have signaled key divisions between humans and other living beings — language, the use of tools, playing and laughing. “Animal Sapiens” reveals that many “inferior” animals undermine these theories … and that old philosophical definitions do not apply as exclusively to us as we had believed.
