Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St./Route 1, will host Saltwater Film Society’s screening of “Moonrise Kingdom” Thursday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m.

Directed by Wes Anderson (“The Royal Tenenbaums,” “The Darjeeling Limited,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel”), a filmmaker known for his ironic sense of humor, and set on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s, “Moonrise Kingdom” follows a young boy and girl who fall in love and are moved to run away together. Various factions of the town mobilize to search for them and the community is turned upside down — which might not be such a bad thing.

“Moonrise Kingdom” features a stellar cast that includes Bruce Willis, Frances McDormand, Edward Norton, Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton.

Admission is free. Parking is in the rear of the building. For more information about the Saltwater Film Society, visit
