Church has moved

UNION — For His Glory Bible Baptist Church has moved into its new church building located at 92 Butler Road. The church was started seven years ago by Pastor Mike Kee, who believes in and uses only the King James Version of the Bible, which is the only word of God and sings the old time God anointed hymns of yesteryear.

Evening Star Grange hosts first public supper of the season

WASHINGTON — The Evening Star Grange, 31 Old Union Road, will host its first supper of the season Saturday, June 7, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Home cooked buffer dinner featuring roast turkey, baked beans, casseroles, salads and as always, there will be plenty of desserts. Price $8 for adults and $4 for children. Bring canned items for the food pantry and receive a $1 off. For more information, call 845-2026.

Public edible landscape installation is June 8

WASHINGTON — On Sunday, June 8, at 1 p.m a public edible landscape will be installed on public property across from the town office at the fire pond. Most trees and plants have been donated by town residents and the conservation committee will purchase a couple of trees to round out the list of plantings and markers to identify them. Peaches, plums, American Chestnut, Shagbark Hickory, wild highbush blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, viburnums, day lily, rosa rugosa, chives, wild Sedum purpurea, rhubarb, dahlias, and Jerusalem artichokes represent a partial list.

Knox’s new Local Advisory Council needs volunteers

ROCKLAND — The members of a center’s Local Advisory Council assist the Knox Community Center in planning events and activities; help identify unmet needs in the community; connect people with programs, activities and services; and assist with advocacy efforts and fundraising to support the mission and vision of Spectrum Generations.

LAC members help to formulate, shape and implement the Center’s annual goals and operations plan. The LAC chairperson represents the Center at Senior Advisory Council meetings.
