The Waldoboro Woman's Club will have a table at the Sproul Block during Waldoboro Day, Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The table will advertise the club's annual Whale of a Sale, which will be held at the VFW in Waldoboro Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Members Alice Duff, Anne Gerrish, Barbara Hunt and Betty Studley will staff the table.

The Whale of a Sale raises money for scholarships for local high school seniors, for continuing education and for donations to area organizations.

The club's Waldoboro Day table will feature a raffle for a Made in Maine basket with tickets available for $1. Tickets may also be available from Becky Maxwell at 832-7742 and at the Whale of a Sale.

Tickets for a quilt with a pineapple design, made by member Bette Hilton, may also be purchased. The drawings for both items will take place at 1 p.m. the day of the sale.

The Waldoboro Day table will include a container for donations to the club's scholarship fund and cookies in the shape of sea life. The club will also have pamphlets with information about its activities, aims and outreach to the community.

Another activity of the Woman's Club will begin Monday, June 9 — a display of the club's activities and outreach to the community at the Waldoboro Public Library. Jean Lawrence is arranging a word and photo display of past presidents and present leaders of the Waldoboro Woman's Club. The 2013-2014 club scrapbook assembled by Lawrence and Mary Lee Merrill with news articles and photos will also be included. Also, the quilt will be on display.

The Whale of a Sale will feature a trash and treasures table, a silent auction, crafts, a bake table, books, CD's, puzzles and a luncheon. New this year is a table featuring Christmas decorations. For more information, call 273-3082.
