Business lawyer Ezekiel Callanan will present a talk titled Copyright and Your Art at the monthly Artists’ Round Table Thursday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Jackson Memorial Library, 71 Main St./Route 131.

Callanan will cover the basics of copyright law in the United States, how those laws impact different artistic forms and some strategies around leveraging one’s work for revenue and protecting it from infringement.

Callanan is a lawyer with Opticliff Law in Portland and works extensively with entrepreneurs from a variety of industries. In 2008, while in law school, he led the founding of the Maine Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and remains a board member today. He also sits on the board of directors of two other busy nonprofit organizations, Creative Portland and Maine Ultimate.

All are welcome to The Artists’ Round Table, which meets in the library’s Community Room the second Thursday of the month. This presentation is rescheduled from March.
