Eric Sideman of MOFGA will lead a presentation of garden weed identification and organic control methods at Merryspring Nature Center Tuesday, June 10, at noon.

By the time June comes around, many weeds will have already established themselves in the home garden. However, not all weeds are treated equal. Sideman’s presentation will focus on identifying the key characteristics of specific weeds and how knowing a little plant biology can go a long way in keeping the garden weed-free. The talk will have an emphasis on organic weed control methods.

Sideman earned his doctorate in botany at Bates College. In 1986 he started at MOFGA, where he continues to work today as a crop advisor and scientist.

This talk is part of the Spring Talk Series at Merryspring, sponsored by The First. Admission to Tuesday Talks is free for Merryspring members, with $5 fee for non-members.
