Necessary Music Productions and The Speakeasy have lined up a one-two musical punch for the first weekend of June. Both shows will run from 9 a.m. to midnight. Cover charge is $5, waived for those dining in.

On Friday, June 6, the Midcoast’s own rock-a-billy and old school rockers 3 Button Deluxe will make First Friday a party night. Lovers of vintage-style rock ‘n’ roll are encouraged to wear their sharpest 1950s and ‘60s period clothing.

On Saturday, June 7, The Speakeasy will present one of New England's best dance bands, Lovewhip. Empress Erin Harpe on lead vocals and guitar, Juicy Jim Countryman on bass and Burly Bob Nisi on drums comprise one of the best electro funk trio touring the Northeast. They mash up all the world's most danceable music, from electro to Afro-beat to reggaeton and post-punk. Outlandish and risqué costumes and dress are expected.

The Speakeasy is located downtown at 2 Park Drive, downstairs from The Chowder House Restaurant.
