To introduce a new dance-oriented workout to the area, Laurie Wolfrum is offering into classes by donation to local nonprofits in June and July at High Mountain Hall, 5 Mountain St./Route 52.

Rasamaya Barre is a fluid athletic workout specifically designed to strengthen and lengthen the body. Classes are fueled by upbeat music and efficiently flow through each muscle group, creating endurance and stamina through strength training and increased flexibility through stretching. The movements are influenced by classical ballet barre methods, Pilates, yoga and orthopedic exercises.

The classes are taught in a group setting, but offers personalized attention through verbal and hands-on corrections. Socks with grips are required for all Barre classes and will be available for purchase for $12. Ten donation-only classes will be offered in June with monies divided between the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry and P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center.

The classes will be held most Tuesday evenings at 5 p.m. and Friday mornings at 8 a.m., June 3 through July 11. Note there will be no classes June 17 and 20; to check High Mountain Hall’s schedule for particular dates, call 236-0003 or visit

Wolfrum has studied ballet, jazz and other forms of dance since she was a young child. She has instructed dance classes for more than 20 years and will soon be a certified Rasamaya Barre instructor.
