Rasamaya Barre is a fluid athletic workout specifically designed to strengthen and lengthen the body. The class is fueled by upbeat music and efficiently flows through each muscle group, creating endurance and stamina through strength training and increased flexibility through stretching. The movements are influenced by classical ballet barre methods, Pilates, yoga, and orthopedic exercises. The class is taught in a group setting, but offers personalized attention through verbal and hands-on corrections.

Ten “donation only” classes will be offered beginning in June. Contributions will be divided between the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry and the P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center.

Classes will be held on most Tuesday evenings at 5 p.m. and Friday mornings at 8 a.m. Class space is generously being donated by High Mountain Hall, an event venue and fitness center located at 5 Mountain St. in Camden. Check the online schedule at highmountainhall.com for particular dates or call 236-0003. There will be no class on June 17 or June 20. The last class-by-donation will take place July 11.

Socks with grips are required for all Barre classes. Socks are available for purchase for $12.

Instructor Laurie Wolfrum has studied ballet, jazz and other forms of dance since she was a young child. She has instructed dance classes for more than 20 years and will soon be a certified Rasamaya Barre instructor.
