Rock City Cafe's Velvet Lounge series will welcome back Old Town Road Saturday, May 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the downtown venue, 316 Main St.

Bob Stuart and Megan Rogers form the basis of Old Town Road. Based in Rockland, Stuart and his daughter Rogers perform a blending of music from the sweet to the raucous, including songs of the sea and country with more contemporary sounds. Stuart has been performing for more than 30 years in the Midcoast area, building a reputation for strong vocals and talent on the guitar and banjo, not to mention his ability to put his own graceful mark on a song.

Rogers has been singing by his side for most of her life, but more recently has been bringing her own voice and interpretations to songs new and old. In 2008, she and her husband moved back from the United Kingdom, where they performed in and around Staffordshire, England.

Rock City’s lunch service extends until closing on music nights. For more information on this and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123 or find it on Facebook.
