The community is invited to a festive potluck and singing bowl concert Saturday, May 31, at The Dancing Elephant, located downtown on the second floor of 16 School St. The potluck will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the concert from 7 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to one or both parts of this wonderful evening; families and children are welcome.

The concert will be offered by Brenda Colfer of Augusta; attendees will enjoy listening to and receiving the beautiful sound waves produced by Colfer’s pure quartz bowls. The benefits of these sounds include releasing tension and stress held in the physical body, calming the mind and centering one’s focus. Colfer is a reiki teacher, sound healing facilitator and Integrated Energy Therapy master instructor. Suggested donation for the concert is $5-$10. Proceeds from the event will support the scholarship fund at The Dancing Elephant, a community wellness studio that hosts weekly classes, weekend retreats and professional trainings in yoga, meditation, Qi Gong, 5Rhythms and Nia. Scholarships are available for all programs. For more information about The Dancing Elephant, contact Rachel Nixon at 594-1694 or; or visit The Dancing Elephant’s Facebook page.
