Douglas W. Milliken, author of "To Sleep as Animals," will read from his new novel Saturday, May 17, at 7 p.m. at Asymmetrick Arts, 405 Main St. Scott Sell will provide musical accompaniment.

In Milliken’s novel, a narcoleptic detective is sent on an assignment to the Nevada desert, only to experience total mental collapse, the dissolution of linear time and, quite possibly, the loss of personal identity. Books will be on sale.

The evening is co-sponsored by Rock Harbor Brewing and hello hello books. Admission is free and open to the public.
