Retired wildlife biologist Ron Joseph will lead a presentation called Birding in Maine: A Virtual Tour Around the State at Merryspring Nature Center Tuesday, May 20, at noon.

Just in time for the spring migration, Joseph’s talk will include a slideshow of birding hotspots around the state. As well as providing descriptions and locations of unique birding sites, the presentation will also include photos of species that birders can expect to find this time of year.

During his 33-year career with the Maine and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services, Joseph specialized in bird conservation projects, conducting breeding bird surveys in the Allagash River region of northern Maine, and working as a team member to help restore Maine's population of bald eagles and peregrine falcons.

This talk is part of the Spring Lecture Series at Merryspring, sponsored by The First. Admission to Tuesday Talks is free for members of Merryspring, with a $5 fee for non-members.
