The Rockland Historical Society will host Gizmos and Whatchamacallits Saturday, May 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lincoln Street Center, 24 Lincoln St.

A panel of four experts will try to identify the purpose and use of mysterious items from the past.

Search out attics and barns for something to challenge the four experts. Stump the panel and win a prize. Whether a person brings something or not, this fun event for the whole family will make history come alive as one listens and learn about how and why things were done. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free, though donations are greatly appreciated. For more information, call Rockland Historical Society, 594-6193, or visit its Facebook page.
