The 2013-2014 Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD season of broadcasts from Lincoln Center to the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., continues Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m. with Rossini’s “La Cenerentola.” An encore broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, at 1 p.m.

A peerless pair of Rossini virtuosos joins forces in “La Cenerentola”: a vocal tour-de-force for mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, singing her first Met performances of the Cinderella title role; and the high-flying tenor Juan Diego Flórez, as her Prince Charming. Alessandro Corbelli and Luca Pisaroni complete the cast, with Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi leading the effervescent score.

Sung in Italian with Met titles in English, the opera runs about three hours and 40 minutes. Tickets are $27, $15 for students, available in advance. Encore tickets, available day-of-show, are $23/$5. For more information on all upcoming live concerts, films, HD broadcasts and events at the Strand, visit; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email
