Why are Canadians healthier and wealthier than Americans? And what are the lessons for Maine? For answers, the public is invited to a free public screening of an award-winning film, "The Healthcare Movie," Saturday, May 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 345 Broadway.

"The Healthcare Movie" provides the real story of how the health care systems in Canada and the United States evolved to be so different, when at one point they were essentially the same.

After the movie, there will be a moderated discussion and question/answer session led by members of the board of Maine AllCare, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization that promotes quality, affordable health for all Maine people. For more information, contact Karen Vellekamp at kvellekamp@gmail.com or visit maineallcare.org. Directions to the church may be found online at uurockland.org.
