Penobscot Marine Museum has a collection of historic photos by Carroll Thayer Berry, a woodcut artist and one of the founders of Center for Maine Contemporary Art.

According to museum records, this photo is of campers at Alford Lake in Hope; however, according to museum staff, the background appears to be Rockport Harbor. The speculation is the campers were on a field trip but that information is unconfirmed as are the identities of the campers.

Those who have further information about the photo should comment online at, email or write Camden Herald, 113 Washington St., Camden ME, 04843.

Readers are invited to submit mystery photos of their own as well, either in person at the Camden Herald office or via email.
