Jess Day of Midcoast Music Together will offer a Babies Music Together class this spring at the Picker Family Resource Center, located on the Pen Bay Medical Center campus. The eight-week class, which is for parents and babies newborn to age 8 months, will be held on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., May 2 through June 2.

A free demonstration class will be held on Friday, April 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Picker Center.

Music Together is an international research-based early childhood music program. Research has demonstrated that babies benefit greatly from early exposure to music. In a typical class, 12 babies and their parents or caregivers meet weekly for 45 minutes to experience new songs, chants, lullabies, movement activities and instrumental play; connect with other families with babies; and learn about their babies’ development through music-making experiences. All participating families receive two Music Together CDs, an illustrated songbook and a baby parent guidebook to use at home.

To RSVP for the demonstration or register for the class, visit or call Day at 593-6645. The cost for this eight-week class is $115 (materials included). Payment plans are available upon request.
