On Wednesday, May 7, The Midcoast Chapter of Maine Women’s Network will host guest Amy Root. This event is sponsored by Midcoast Leadership Academy, represented by member Robin McIntosh.

"Bust out of your rut. Get back on track. Bring back your joy. You don’t have to change your entire life to feel good again. You need a clear vision and a few simple shifts that will reignite your spirit. We all have the same 24 hours each day." states a news release from Maine Women's Network. "This presentation outlines a path to making your days work for you by connecting with your healthiest self again. Amy shows us how to open the doors to feeling good again and welcome in healthier habits, movement, exercise and art. Rediscover what makes YOU tick."

Hope resident, Amy Root earned a Master of Public Health degree in community health education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2000. She received a bachelor of science degree in health and fitness from Springfield College in 1993. Root is a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise and is a YogaFit Instructor. Through a variety of methods Root motivates and inspires groups and individuals to create a deeper commitment to bringing joy to their lives. On a personal level, she balances a career as director of development at the LifeFlight Foundation with other passions including being a triathlete, a wife, and a mother to two active girls.
