An exclusive Summit Sunset Party at Beech Nut is top prize in Coastal Mountains Land Trust's third annual raffle.

The lucky winner and up to 40 guests will enjoy a summer party at the historic, sod-roofed hut atop Beech Hill in Rockport.

The party — to be held on an evening before Aug. 30 as determined by the winner and the Land Trust — will feature an elegant array of catered hors d’oeuvres. Beverage set-up is also provided (state law prevents the Land Trust from providing alcoholic beverages, but the winner may bring his/her own), plus a $200 Hannaford gift card for extras, transportation up and down the hill, and invitations sent to all the guests. Beech Nut, situated on the Land Trust's Beech Hill Preserve, is not available to the public as a private rental, so this is truly a one-of-a-kind party.

Catherine Goggans, last year's raffle winner, enthusiastially endorsed the event: "Rick and I have thrown many parties, but that party up on the hill was unique… and really fun for a lot of people. We didn’t have to do anything. It was beautifully done, everything was taken care of — the flowers, the food — and all we had to do was invite people and entertain them!"

Second prize is a Breakfast by the Bay Weekend Package for two at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, including two nights of luxurious waterfront accomodations accompanied by sumptuous breakfasts at La Bella Vita, the on-site restaurant, and access to all the Resort's spa facilities and amenities (see

Third prize is dinner for four at Saltwater Farm Café in Rockport. The winner of this prize will celebrate fine food and friendship at one of the Midcoast's premier restaurants showcasing fresh local ingredients through simple, seasonal dishes. Peruse the current menu at
