There has been a lot of discussion in the media, from local to national, about standards based education.

School Administrative District 28 and Five Town Community School District Assistant Superintendent, Maria Libby, and former Maine Commissioner of Education, Steve Bowen, will co-host an evening event for community members to learn more about what standards based education is all about and why there is a movement toward it in the state and nation.

It will be held Monday, May 5, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Lecture Hall at Camden Hills Regional High School.

Come learn about why education systems are changing, what is happening around the state, New England region, and nation, and where our local schools are in the process. The first part of the hour will be devoted to information presentation and the last part will be for questions and discussion. This event is targeted as an introduction for the greater community.
