Rockland student inducted into honor society

SOUTH PORTLAND — Anthony Campagnoli was inducted into the Alpha Chi Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at April 13 at Southern Maine Community College.

Campagnoli, from Rockland, majoring in English, is the son of Michael and Fern Campagnoli.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Miss., is the largest honor society in American higher education with 1,280 chapters on college campuses in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Germany, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the British Virgin Islands, the United Arab Emirates, U.S. territorial possessions and Peru. More than 2.5 million students have been inducted since its founding in 1918, with approximately 135,000 students inducted annually.

Lead renovator training April 26

ROCKLAND — Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education offers certificate training for the paint-handling industry. The 2010 Renovation, Repair & Paint Lead Safety rules are covered in this one-session course. General contractors, carpenters, painters and others are trained in RRP rules, the health effects and work practices associated with lead. Spring classes at Five Town CSD Adult Ed

ROCKPORT — Five Town CSD Adult and Community Education’s latest selection of classes for spring are now available for signups. Class listings can be found on the website

Among the new offerings this year are Bagpipes for Newbies, taught by Chris Pinchbeck of Pinchbeck Pipes in Hope; Native Wildflowers of Maine with wildflower expert Wanda Garland; History of the Blues in Rockland taught by North Atlantic Blues Festival founder Paul Benjamin; Rediscover Cycling with John Sommo; Nature’s Eye field journal class with writing workshop presenter Pete Schiot; Photography Introduction with Joseph Corrado; and Printmaking Explorations with Sweet Tree Arts’ Lindsey Pinchbeck.

In addition, there are several garden classes, including lawns and Japanese Beetles, a Quickbooks 2014 intro class, Homebuyers Education by MaineStream Finance, ATV Safety, and several classes on Macrobiotics.
