Good Tern Co-Op and Coastal Children’s Museum are teaming up to get the garden ready for planting Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to noon by planting two seeds: one to take home and one to keep here at the museum to sprout as the museum will be growing the seedlings throughout the month and ultimately planting them in the museum’s new vegetable garden May 31.

This workshop will kick off a four-part program following the growing season born out of the partnership between the Coastal Children’s Museum and Rockland’s own Good Tern Co-Op.

“This link between our two organizations is aimed to help our community make healthy happy children, “ said Museum Program Coordinator Megan Rogers. “ This current project hopefully will be a very fruitful (or vegetable-ful) endeavor which will nourish visitors in all different ways — with healthy, local food- with fun — and with friends new and old.” Past programs through this partnership have included a healthy gingerbread men cookie decorating workshop and an orange pomander workshops this winter.

This workshop is included in the price of admission and free for members. Sign up is appreciated but not required. To sign up, email or call 596-0300.
