The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to once again host its annual Business and Community Expo Wednesday, April 9, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Samoset Resort.

The event is held each year to showcase area businesses and nonprofits, offering attendees the opportunity to see some of the exciting things that are going on in the Midcoast region. The Expo is open to the general public and admittance is free.

“We’re seeing a lot of excitement around this year’s Expo. Once again, we have an eclectic group of exhibitors, so in addition to business services, you’ll be able to learn more about programs at our local museums, arts organizations, animal shelters, and community programs in topics as varied as sailing, health, education, the environment, and more," said Robin McIntosh, business and tourism development director, in a news release.

There has been increased interest in the Expo from the business side as well. From banks and computer companies to real estate, builders, and transportation, there are companies both new and well established. “You’ll be able interview an insurance company, buy olive oil or coffee, taste wine, and talk to landscapers, painters, and roofers.” McIntosh noted.

Staci Coomer, the Chamber’s Executive Director added, “We encourage people to attend whether they are residents, business people, or retired. The exhibits are so diverse this year, we are confident that everyone will find something they are interested in or a new service they might use.”

A Business After Hours reception, sponsored by the Samoset (cash bar) will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., and many booths have door prizes that will be announced at the end of the evening. For a list of exhibitors, visit
