Artist Nancy Glassman will offer a one-day watercolor workshop for adults and teens Saturday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sweet Tree Arts, Hope Corner/intersection of routes 105 and 235.

Water is at once a most familiar and most mysterious element. This workshop will clarify how to work with it as a versatile and beguiling paint medium. Glassman will address issues of light and color, composition, space, pattern, rhythm and more. Students may choose to work on landscape, still life or abstracts.

Glassman is represented by the Caldbeck Gallery in Rockland. She has been teaching art for 40 years in a wide variety of settings including the Farnsworth Art Museum, Maine Arts Commission’s Visiting Artist program and the Early stARTS program of the University of Southern Maine.

Cost is $60. In May, will begin an ongoing Tuesday class, also at Sweet Tree, an L3C community arts center. To register and for more information, visit sweettreearts.org or call 763-2770.
