Internationally renowned, award-winning children’s and family performer Justin Roberts with his band The Not Ready for Naptime Players will kick off Columbus Day Weekend Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Camden Opera House, Elm Street/Route 1.

Roberts has appeared at Carnegie Hall and most recently entertained thousands at L.L. Beans’ July 4th Independence Day Celebration. He is one of the “all-stars” of the indie family music scene and is always a big hit with both children and their parents, whether on Nick, Jr.; at New York City’s Symphony Space; or at the hundreds of festivals and events where he and his band play.

Roberts is a Chicago-based artist who logs thousands of miles on the road each year while performing hundreds of concerts around North America. With numerous national awards (including seven Parents’ Choice Gold awards and six NAPPA Gold awards), and critical recognition from the likes of Parents, School Library Journal, People and Time magazines, Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players consistently dish out intelligent and whimsically engaging music. Roberts also recently authored a new picture book for children, to be published by Putnam in 2014.

General admission tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children younger than 16. They are available at camdenoperahouse.com; by calling 470-7066; at the Camden Town Office weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and at the door on the day of the show.
