River Arts invites the public to the opening reception for its newest exhibition, “Autumn,” Friday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. The juried exhibition features 95 works in a variety of media by 60 artists from Portland to Stockton Springs.

The “Autumn” exhibition will run through Nov. 7 at River Arts, in the Hunt Business Center on Route 1. Visitors also will be able to view the new exhibition in the West Gallery featuring Stockton Springs artist William Landmesser; and purchase a last-minute raffle ticket for the evening’s drawing of winners of the five paintings donated by artists for the River Arts fundraiser.

Midcoast artists with work in the show include Susan Dansereau, Belfast; Pat Ryan, Cushing; Elaine Niemi, Friendship; James Tolle, Hope; Petrea Noyes, Lincolnville; Gwen Sylvester, Rockland; Laura Freeman and Diana Dion, Rockport; Sandi Cirillo, Searsport; Lucinda Talbot, St. George; William Landmesser, Stockton Springs; Geoff Bladon, Tenants Harbor; Carolyn Whitaker, Thomaston; Kathleen Thornton, Union; Judith Mitchell and Robert Macdonald, Waldoboro; and Cynthia White and Rachel Oakes, Washington.

The juror for the “Autumn” exhibition is R. Keith Rendall, a professional printmaker and artist with more than 30 years of experience and considered an expert on the history of etching and woodcut printmaking in the Renaissance. Rendall is a graduate of Kenyon College and has been the recipient of several prestigious awards. He has shown his work internationally and is revered as a true master of his art. He has taught at the University of Maine, Farmington, and Lincoln Academy, as well as at other private and public schools throughout the state. His R. Keith Rendall Fine Art Gallery is the newest addition to Wiscasset’s art scene.
