Art Space Gallery, 342 Main St., invites one and all to an opening reception Friday, Oct. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. Three of the 18 co-op artists will be featured in October's front room exhibit.

Laurie Lofman Bellmore will be showing Precious Metal Clay and dichroic glass jewelry, as well as digitally enhanced photography. Her handcrafted fine silver and dichroic glass jewelry pieces are kiln-fired. To her 35mm photographs, Bellmore applies digital enhancement, much like a painter's brush.

Lydia Kaeyer of Owls Head paints bold watercolors of the working waterfront, realistically interpreting coastal scenes with colorful shadows and the paper’s whites. Her award-winning work is represented in private collections throughout the country.

Charlene "Sea" Vanderslice is dedicated to saving our oceans and their endangered creatures and is known to use actual seawater in her whimsical, color-saturated portraits of the ocean's gifts. Thirty percent of her profits go to the Marine Environmental Research Institute.

Art Space Gallery, across from the Strand Theatre, has new hours for October, open Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.
