Plant ecologist Aleta McKeage will present a free program on Exotic Plant Invaders of Coastal Maine Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Lincolnville Community Library.

This is an opportunity for people to learn about invasive plants and how they can threaten the health of Midcoast Maine ecosystems. McKeage will discuss which invasive plants present the greatest threat and why, how to identify these plants, and what plants to watch out for and eradicate early. She will also talk about the pros and cons of methods being used to control these plants.

There will be plenty of time for discussion following the presentation. The library is located at the corner of Heal Road and Main Street in Lincolnville Center. For more information, email fireweed@tidewater.net.
