Protesters affiliated with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals targeted a Linda Bean lobster restaurant in Florida Sept. 24.
The group — including one dressed as a giant lobster — displayed signs outside Linda Bean's Delray Beach restaurant to protest the treatment of lobsters and crabs in Bean's Rockland, Maine processing business.
This is the latest development in PETA's campaign against Bean, which started when the organization released a video of lobsters and crabs being torn apart at a processing plant.
An attorney for Bean has said the plant is meeting all standards and is not violating any laws. The Maine Department of Marine Resources and Maine Lobstermen's Association have denounced PETA's effort as a publicity stunt.
