Decorative artist Hope Angier will make a presentation at the October Meeting of the Appleton Historical Society Monday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Mildred Stevens Williams Memorial Library, 2916 Sennebec Road.

Angier will speak on traditional, historically inspired decorative methods including stenciling of walls and furniture with ornamental patterns, painting of wall murals, and painting of fireboards to close fireplace openings when not in use. Her work, and that of her husband Fred, who live in Hope, has appeared in numerous national publications.

The business portion of the meeting will open the evening, followed immediately by the program. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Raffle tickets (50/50) to benefit the Appleton Historical Society will be on sale at the October meeting for $1 per ticket, six tickets for $5.
